Please Don’t Come to This Show embraces digital communion as a de facto respite from the everyday. The project is an online space directed by Daniel Arturo Almedia, Jason Elizondo and Elise Warfield in response to art production’s shift toward a virtual experience. The aesthetic of the project reflects the complex relationship to online omnipresence and digital information through a tongue-in-cheek poetization of technotopia. This is an inclusive community where the personal is shared, celebrated and augmented. By appropriating early internet inconography, we queer the timeline and aesthetic of information. This sensibility, recalling the democratic nature of the early internet, embodies openness and experimentation—  a refusal of the status quo.
